DINET’S FORECAST: LOGISTICS SERVICES MAY GROW UP TO 15% FOR CHRISTMAS

A few weeks before the Christmas celebrations, it is estimated that this campaign will be very intense and companies are already preparing for that.

“During the last weeks we have observed a strong increase in product placement and rotation, which means that the companies are betting for a campaign with strongly increasing sales. These could increase between 10% and 15% regarding last year, which would imply a very successful campaign” said Luis Miguel Maldonado, General Manager of Dinet, a Sandoval Group company that provides logistics operations outsourcing services. And he said that although some companies feel a growth decrease regarding previous years, this one would be a light one.

Dinet that provides logistics services for the country’s retail and mass consumption sectors companies, said that the expected good performance is based in the consumers’ trust recovery, which slightly decreased during this year’s second trimester.

In the last years, employment in the country has grown and this has generated larger and more stable family incomes, especially in the so called middle class. Besides this, the opening of new modern retail stores will also favor this Christmas campaign’s intensity, he said.
